Senior Accountant

Be the technical authority clients rely on, and develop the accountants coming up behind you.

Senior Accountants at Blewstream own the complex, judgement-heavy parts of the ledger for US-based clients. That covers estimates, provisions, revenue recognition and leases, through to financial statements and the audit. You'll be the client's go-to person on technical questions, lead a small team, and have real influence over how the close improves.

• Own key accounting estimates (accruals, provisions, revenue recognition, allowances, leases) and balance sheet integrity for your areas
• Run the close for your portfolio areas and prepare financial statements, supporting schedules and note disclosures
• Investigate variances to root cause and write commentary a client controller can use unchanged
• Lead the audit relationship for your areas, and review and approve Junior and Staff Accountants' work
• Oversee AP, AR and collections for your portfolio, resolving escalated billing and account queries
• Write close checklists and SOPs, and deliver automation and close-acceleration improvements
• Supervise, mentor and develop direct reports, and deputise for the Lead Accountant

What you'll bring

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or ACCA (one is required)
• 5+ years in general accounting, including ownership of judgemental areas and full close cycles
• Direct experience preparing financial statements and supporting an external audit
• Experience reviewing and approving others' work
• Strong ERP skills (SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics or Sage Intacct), including reporting tools, plus advanced Excel
• Awareness of SOX 404 and SOC 1 control expectations

Nice to have

ACCA (advanced or qualified), CPA or CMA. Experience in a shared-service, outsourced or multi-client setting. Automation or data tooling skills. US GAAP exposure, including revenue recognition and leases, is welcome; IFRS is equally valid for an otherwise strong candidate.
