Junior Accountant

At Blewstream, Junior Accountants learn the full month-end close supporting US-based clients. Every journal, schedule and reconciliation you prepare is reviewed by an experienced accountant, so you build strong habits quickly. • Prepare journal entries, month-end schedules (prepayments, accruals, allocations) and fixed asset register updates to the close calendar
• Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations that are complete, referenced and easy for a reviewer to follow
• Compile data, supporting schedules and draft variance analysis for monthly reporting packs
• Keep working papers and audit trails organised, and help assemble documentation for auditors
• Flag unfamiliar transactions and unexplained differences early, and learn how they get resolved

What you'll bring

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (completed or in progress)
• ACCA Applied Knowledge complete or under way, or equivalent professional study
• 0–2 years in an accounting or finance role; internships and placements count
• Working Excel skills: sorting, filtering and basic formulae
• Clear written and spoken English suited to US business correspondence

Nice to have

Experience with QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics or Sage. US GAAP exposure is welcome but not required; a grounding in IFRS is equally valid, and we'll teach the US-specific knowledge on the job.
