Accounts Payable Associate

Full-Time
Role Overview

Own an AP portfolio end to end, from invoice to payment, with accuracy you can stand behind.

Our AP Associates run the full payables cycle for US-based clients. You'll work independently, deal directly with vendors and client contacts, and provide trained cover in a second finance area during peaks. You'll be trusted to release transactions within your delegated limits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and verify supplier invoices end to end, including coding, authorisation and posting
  • Own the three-way match, clearing price, quantity and receipt mismatches within client tolerances and escalating anything outside them with evidence
  • Handle non-PO and service invoices, recurring items (utilities, rent, leases) and rejected invoices through the right approval route
  • Prepare and execute payment runs (cheques, wires, ACH and electronic files), plus urgent and off-cycle payments against documented authorisation
  • Reconcile vendor statements and clear debit balances and discrepancies within the agreed ageing window
  • Own the AP mailbox, vendor calls and vendor master, answering status queries within service levels
  • Review Junior Associates' work where delegated, and raise recurring errors and process issues with evidence
What You'll Bring

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in accounts payable or general accounting
  • Practical experience in at least one ERP (SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage or QuickBooks)
  • Intermediate Excel: lookups, pivot tables and reconciling large data sets
  • Solid knowledge of payment terms, payment methods and remittance practice
  • A track record of performing in a target-driven environment
  • No degree required: hands-on experience and proven capability carry the weight

Nice to have

Experience serving US-based clients. ACCA at any stage, a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or CMA study, or the IOFM Accredited Payables Specialist certification all count in your favour, but none is required.

You'll thrive here if…

You treat your portfolio as your own, check your work before you release it, and communicate clearly with vendors and clients.
